Crockpot Soy Honey Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast Lean and perfect for shredding.
  • Reduced sodium soy sauce Keeps the sauce flavorful without being overpoweringly salty.
  • Honey Adds the perfect touch of sweetness to balance the garlic and soy.
  • Hoisin sauce Gives it that delicious umami depth.
  • Rice vinegar A little tang to brighten the flavors.
  • Toasted sesame oil For that nutty rich aroma.
  • Garlic The star of the show! Use fresh cloves for the best flavor.
  • Scallions and sesame seeds For a fresh crunchy garnish.
  • Salt and pepper Just enough to round everything out.

Instructions

  • Prep your garlic. Grate it finely so it melts right into the sauce.
  • Mix it all together. In your slow cooker, add the chicken, soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir everything together until the chicken is coated.
  • Slow cook. Cook on high for 3–4 hours or low for 6–7 hours. Flip the chicken halfway through for even cooking.
  • Shred the chicken. Once cooked, shred it right in the pot. A hand mixer makes this super quick and easy!
  • Serve and enjoy. Spoon the chicken over fluffy white rice (or brown rice, quinoa, or noodles), then sprinkle with scallions and sesame seeds for a fresh finish.
