Funfetti Donuts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup + 1 1/2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pink frosting store-bought or homemade no judgment here!
  • Rainbow sprinkles aka edible happiness

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. This gives your oven time to warm up while you mix everything together.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together: 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt. Give it a good whisk to get out any lumps. I like to call this “fluffing the dry stuff” makes me feel fancy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together: 1 egg, 1/3 cup + 1 1/2 tbsp milk, 2 tbsp melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract. Make sure your melted butter isn’t too hot, or it’ll scramble the egg.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Don’t overmix it’s okay if it’s not perfectly silky. Just aim for “mostly mixed and not clumpy.”
Pro tip: This is a great moment to fold in some extra sprinkles right into the batter if you’re feeling extra festive.
  • Spoon the batter into your greased donut pan. You can use a spoon, a piping bag, or even a plastic bag with the corner snipped off. Aim to fill each mold about 3/4 full.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes. Pop those beauties into the oven and let them bake. You’ll know they’re done when they spring back lightly to the touch and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • This is a good time to get the frosting and sprinkles ready. (Or sneak a few chocolate chips from the pantry no judgment.)
