Pop the Popcorn: If you’re using kernels, pop them in an air popper or on the stovetop. Spread the popcorn out on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure to remove any unpopped kernels, no one wants to bite into those!
Melt the Candy Melts: In three separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the red, white, and blue candy melts. Heat in 15-20 second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Be careful not to overheat, as candy melts can seize up quickly!
Drizzle the Colors: Using a spoon or a fork, drizzle each color over the popcorn. Have fun with it, no need to be perfect!
Add the Fun Stuff: While the candy melts are still warm, sprinkle the M&Ms and patriotic sprinkles all over the popcorn. The melted chocolate will help everything stick.
Let It Set: Allow the popcorn to sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes, or pop it in the fridge for a few minutes if you’re in a hurry. Once the chocolate hardens, break up any big clumps.
Serve & Enjoy! Transfer the popcorn to a serving bowl, or portion it into treat bags for easy sharing.
