Perfect Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or oat, dairy, cashew, whatever you love
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder Rich, chocolatey goodness coming right up.
  • 1-2 tablespoons pure maple syrup or honey Or stevia if you’re sugar-conscious. Adjust to your sweet tooth.
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract Because it makes everything better.
  • 1-2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips optional – For that extra richness that says, yes, I deserve this.
  • Optional toppings: Whipped cream, cocoa powder, chocolate sauce, mini chips, marshmallows… go wild!

Instructions
 

  • Pour your almond milk into a small saucepan and add your cocoa powder and maple syrup (or honey). Set it over medium heat and stir as it warms up. You want it hot, not boiling think “just right” for sipping, not scalding.
    Tip: Whisk the cocoa powder well so it dissolves nicely and doesn’t clump.
  • Once your milk is hot, toss in those dark chocolate chips (if you’re using them). Stir until everything is melty, smooth, and magical. You’ll see it thicken slightly and get that beautiful mocha shine.
  • Right before pouring, stir in the vanilla extract. It adds the right touch and makes the whole drink taste like it came from your favorite café.
  • Pour your hot chocolate into your favorite mug.
  • Now comes the fun part: toppings! Here are a few ideas: Whipped cream (dairy or coconut, both are delish), sprinkle of cocoa powder or cinnamon, drizzle of chocolate sauce, a few chocolate chips or shavings, mini marshmallows if you’re feeling nostalgic, a candy cane for stir-stick magic during the holidays
