Follow the instructions on your yellow cake mix or recipe. Once they’re out of the oven, let them cool completely.
Using the vanilla frosting with the large tip, pipe a smooth swirl right in the center of each cupcake. This will be the sky background kind of like the soft clouds. Smooth it a bit with a butter knife or the back of a spoon if you want that super-flat look.
Grab the chocolate frosting with the small tip. At the bottom edge of the cupcake, draw a tiny house. Think simple shapes: a square base, a triangle roof, maybe a door or little windows .
With the light-colored frosting, add a few little details to the house. Think: shutters, a tiny windowpane, a pop of color on the door.
Using that chocolate frosting again, pipe thin lines going up from the roof of the house toward the outer top half of the cupcake. Vary the lengths of the lines a bit they’re supposed to look like strings holding a bunch of balloons.
Take those bubblegum balls and gently press one at the end of each string. Use all different colors bright pink, yellow, green, blue, and orange.
